RELATIONSHIP & SEX EDUCATION AT ST JOHN’S PRIMARY ACADEMY

Teaching children about relationships is a vital part of their education and something that we have taken very seriously at St John’s Primary Academy for many years.

From September,  Relationships and Sex Education has now become a compulsory part of the curriculum and we are aware that this change has attracted some publicity.

In order to ensure that our parents are fully informed we have, in partnership with other academies in our Trust, produced an information film below:-.

We have worked hard to make sure that our new curriculum reflects:-

  • Our values of equality, inclusion and respect for all students and communities

  • Our pupil’s age and maturity levels, as well as their cultural and religious backgrounds

  • Every students’ learning needs

  • What students need to know to be healthy and safe in school, in their personal relationships and in the wider world
